Rice is also widely consumed – particularly basmati rice which is used in many traditional dishes such as biryani (a type of rice dish made with meat or vegetables). Flatbreads such as naan are often served alongside curries or stews while fruit chaat (a type of salad) makes for a refreshing snack or dessert.
